Capture a task by voice with the app closed. Siri hands the words to nowdo, and AI fills in the rest (dates, priority, estimate) as if you had typed it in the app. This needs the iOS app, with Siri capture enabled in Settings → Integrations.

Built-in phrases

Every built-in phrase must contain the app name; Apple requires it. Say any of these:

Siri then asks what the task is. Variants with "todo" or "reminder" in place of "task", and "to" in place of "in", work too.

To hear your day, ask:

Your own phrase

You are not stuck with the app name. Wrap the capture action in a personal Shortcut and name it anything you like. "Brain dump", say.

  1. Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap + to create a new shortcut.
  3. Search for nowdo and add the Add Task action.
  4. Rename the shortcut to the phrase you want to say.

That's it. "Hey Siri, brain dump" now asks for a task and sends it to nowdo. The app-name rule only binds the built-in phrases; a personal Shortcut runs under whatever name you give it.
